Sustainability - ZLD
- RCM is the first company in this region to implement Zero Liquid Discharge in 2004.
- To retain an eco-friendly nature, installation of a reverse osmosis plant for water treatment has been undertaken with a capacity of 40 Lakh liters/day, by which the status of "Zero" effluent discharge unit have been achieved.
- We recycle and reuse 100% of the water used for dyeing with advanced ZLD methods.
- Zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) is a water treatment process in which all wastewater is purified and recycled. Therefore, leaving zero discharge at the end of the treatment cycle.
- The ZLD treatment method includes ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, evaporation, crystallization, and fractional electrode-ionization.
Renewable energy resources for environment protection
Solar Panel
- RCM has installed solar panels with a capacity of 14MW.
- By generating this green power RCM is saving 1.4 Million kgs/year of Coal for the nation, with the equivalent avoidance of harmful carbon emission into the atmosphere.
Windmill
- RCG has installed 32 windmills from Suzlon, Gamesa, Regen, Neg-micon, of total 44MW capacity taking care of the entire power requirements of the group.
- RCG is a renewable power surplus company. We also provide around 40,000,000 (units/year) of renewable energy to the government and nearby textile manufacturing facilities.
Our Community Engagement Initiatives
At Royal Classic Mills, we are deeply engaged in community initiatives aimed at environmental conservation and education empowerment.
Vanathukkul Tiruppur was initiated as a tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, initially aiming to plant 1,000,000 trees. Today, we have surpassed this goal by planting over 18 Lakh trees and continue to add 200,000 trees annually. This mass tree plantation efforts began in 2015 to reduce carbon footprint and mitigate environmental impact.

Through VETRY’s "Maadham Oru Maram Valarpom" (Let's Grow a Tree) Scheme, we plant a tree for every 100 rupees received. This initiative aims to involve communities worldwide in fostering a sustainable future for generations to come.
VETRY, established in 2004 by prominent business leaders in Tirupur, is a reputable NGO focused on environmental and social initiatives. Over 16 years, VETRY has achieved notable milestones such as constructing a check dam across the Noyyal River in 2006, reviving the Andipalayam PWD Tank after 30 years of abandonment, and developing a green campus for Iduvampalayam Government Higher Secondary School in 2008.
Additionally, RCM has installed 28 windmills from Suzlon, Gameza, Regen,
Negmicron, with a total capacity of 48 MW, fulfilling the entire power requirements
of the group. Furthermore, RCM has installed solar power panels with a capacity of
22 MW. By generating this green power, RCM is saving gallons of fuel and metric
tonnes of coal for the nation, resulting in the equivalent avoidance of harmful
carbon emissions into the biosphere.
